The US National Whitewater Center is a place to see in and of itself, any time of the year. During the summer they hold free concerts, have whitewater rafting, a ropes course, and plenty of walking trails.
There are DJs and a great atmosphere on TWO levels with THREE bars. The Speedway Lights is a really unique experience in the neighboring town of Concord. These are in the Charlotte Motor Speedway, which is pretty famous if you are into Nascar. A fan or not, it’s pretty cool to get to drive a Nascar track while you enjoy the lights.
DEC. 12-14Christmas Carriage Rides6-9 p.m. Downtown, in front of First Presbyterian Church. It’s a beach party at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Christmas for 2023! This spectacular display features over 4 million lights, which is one of the largest in the country. You also get to drive on the track itself, which is really cool as the LED lights lit up the infield and the seating area.
